Mr. de Larosière is a French international civil servant and banker; b. 12 Nov. 1929, Paris.

He graduated from Paris University, Institut d’Etudes Politiques, and Ecole Nationale d’Administration.

He held a number of professional positions starting from Inspecteur adjoint 1958, Inspecteur des Finances 1960; Chargé de Mission in Inspectorate- Général of Finance 1961, External Finance Office 1963, Treasury 1965; Assistant Director Treasury 1967; Deputy Director, then Head of Department, Ministry of Economy and Finance 1971; Principal Private Secretary to Valéry Giscard-d’Estaing (then Minister of Economy and Finance) 1974; Under-Secretary of Treasury 1974-78.

Mr. de Larosière also served as the President of the Group of Ten 1976-78; Managing Director of the IMF 1978-87; Inspecteur Général des Finances 1981; Governor of Banque de France 1987-93, Hon. Gov. since 1993; Chairman Committee of Governors, Group of Ten 1990-93; President of the European Bank

for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) 1993-98.

He also held the position of Dir. Power Corporation 1998-2001, Alstom 1998-2000, France Telecom 1998; Chairman of The Per Jacobsson Foundation 1999-2004, Trustee of Reuters Founders Share Company Limited 1999-2004.

Currently he holds the position of Advisor to the Chairman at BNP Paribas since 1998, President of the Observatoire de l’Epargne Européenne (OEE) 1999, Co-Chairman of Eurofi 2000, Co-Chairman of the "Committee on Crisis Management and Crisis Resolution in Emerging Markets" of the Institute of International Finance (IIF), since 2003, Member of the Group of Trustees for Emerging Markets Finance Initiative (IIF), 2006.

Mr. De Laroisière is a Member of Academie of Moral and Political Sciences 1993 ; Hon. Member of Société of Cincinnati de France; Commandeur de la Légion d’Honneur; K.B.E.
